Smintheus’ post, “In Thrall to Mammon” describes in horrifying detail what happened to Jdimytai Damour, the poor soul trampled to death by a slew of bargain-hunting savages at America’s Favorite Krap Hut, Wal-Mart.

No More Snow In September
Chief Whitehouse Spokesman Tony Snow announced today that, as of September 14, 2007, he is stepping down. What is the reason?? A great scandal a la Senator Craig? Is he lamely following the rest of the Republican contingent? It must be the fact that the fellow has been battling cancer. No! Wrong, wrong, wrong! He is stepping down because he’s broke.
Hey, wanna get really bummed out? And/or very probably enraged? Just pick up a copy or log on to the New York Times website and read the story entitled, Lawmakers Push for Big Subsidies for Coal Process. Under the 2002 version of the bill, taxpayers have been shelling out big bucks for farm programs that don’t benefit us much – including $1.3 BILLION to landowners who don’t actually grow any crops.
